Whenever a firm is looking to hire a new designer, there’s always a buzzword that’s tossed around as a descriptor for a potential candidate – talent. What does it mean when someone is considered talented in the 21st century and how often is the word used today?

In this episode, Tim shares his perspective on what it means to be talented and says that it’s when a person is so interested and passionate about something that they practice and become great at that particular thing. Mike and Tim discuss the way that the design industries have changed where traditionally, one designer would come up with the design ideas that the team would develop to the latest trend where designs are developed as a team. The idea of finding a talented individual no longer exists because businesses thrive on having a great team filled with skilled people that have interpersonal skills.
