What is the customer experience of purchasing a fully tailored outfit from a growing online retail brand like? How does it compare with existing tailored clothing companies out there today in terms of experience, quality, and price? In this episode, Tim shares his experience purchasing a tailored suit from Indochino.

Tim starts this episode off with an introduction to the brand, Indochino, which is a company that creates custom tailored suits for every customer. He shares his in-store experience where a tailor took measurements for over an hour of his entire body, similar to the way that all tailors would measure a new customer for a suit. Throughout the entire recording of the episode, Tim was trying on the suit for the first time and was amazed at the precision, quality, and comfort of the materials.

Mike and Tim get into a discussion about the longevity of suits in relation to their costs. In most cases, suits range from $150 to $4,000 and above starting with mass produced suits to tailored ones. For the 3 piece suit that Tim purchased from Indochino, the suit cost $400. They also talk about Tim’s unboxing experience, which you can learn more about in this episode.

Join us as we talk about what it’s like to purchase a tailored suit from Indochino and the prospect of its business model in this episode of Unpacking Design.
